Hilda María “Chury” Agüero Grau, daughter of José “Pepe” Agüero Cairo and María Leopoldina “Polita” Grau-Alsina and sister to Ramon F. Aguero, died in her Palm Beach Gardens, Fl home on November 28th, 2021. She was 74 years old.
“Chury” is survived by her two sons Luis de Cárdenas and Jorge de Cárdenas. and her 5 grandsons, Jorge, Luigi, Enzo, Andres and Adriano.
“Chury” dedicated most of her life working as a bereavement counselor for Hospice care. She truly loved her job helping thousands of families through very difficult times while losing loved ones. It was her passion to help others as she had a big heart and always wanted to help others before herself.
“Chury” was born into the Grau family, which her great-uncle, Ramon Grau San Martin. served as Cuba’s president from 1933 to 1934 and again from 1944 to 1948. Her mother, “Polita” and her uncle Ramon F. Aguero, were key participants in the Pedro Pan movement that enabled over 14,000 children to escape Cuba and Castro’s regime.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday. December 7th at the Caballero/Rivero Westchester Funeral Home, 8200 Bird Road, Miami, FL. 33155 from 5pm to 11pm. A Mass will be held on Wednesday December 8th at 12 Noon, at Church of the Little Flower (St. Theresa), 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables Fl 33134
