Despite living through the depression and then exile, Baby never let himself be defined by the times, choosing instead to define the times he lived in. He fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot for the Cuban Air Force at a very young age and flying, his first love, was later replaced by his avid golfing.
Baby reinvented himself in exile by becoming one of the pioneers in selling US life insurance to Latin-Americans.
Baby would set five year goals and always achieve them. He taught us the meaning of hard work and pride of accomplishment, and led by example. His journey through life left the world a better place for his presence in it.
He reached beyond the stars and in doing so became a superstar. We will keep you in our hearts and in our thoughts forever.
Although he will be greatly missed by his wife of 66 years Ileana, his children Ileana and Humberto, his grandchildren Vanessa, Alejandro, and Victoria, his great-granddaughter Isabella, his sister Helen and his son in law Miguel. They know that they will go back some day, come what may, and meet at the Blue Bayou.
