Janet Louise Wilkes

Born in Miami, Florida, on May 25, 1936, to Carl Futch and Bessie Pietro, Janet grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and kindness that shaped every part of her life. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Donald Lee Wilkes, and a loving, selfless mother to Lonnie Mauldin (deceased), Paulette (Tom) Berger, Sr., Cherie (Joe) Biandola, Lynn (John) Green, Michael (Jill) Wilkes, and Anita Fernandez (Tony Toledo).

Janet was preceded in death by her sisters, Elaine, Nona, Carol, and brother Roy.

As the only woman in a bustling household for many years, Janet’s quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering love became the heart of her family. She found joy in sewing, reading, and spending time surrounded by her loved ones.

Janet was the cherished sister of Barbara Pettus and the proud grandmother of Janet Marie McIntosh, Thomas Berger, Jr., Christina Biandola, Jessica (Mike) Massenat Jr., Anthony Biandola, Kelly Patridge, Kelli Green, Catherine Stone, Ashley Patrone, Justin, Dillon, Donnie & Grace Wilkes, Jana Tricomi, Chaz Sandell, Blaze, & Zachary Fernandez. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Lottie, Lisa & Gaston Massenat, Gabby, Rita, JP & Alex Patrone, Blake & Liam Wilkes, Cali Fernandez, Alina & Aiden McIntosh, Abigail & Thomas Edward Berger III, Luna & Skylar Tricomi, Jesus Mayrena, Marc Biandola, Trinity Biandola, Elijah Biandola, Rebekah Patridge, and Austin Patridge.

The family will receive friends at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 SW 40th St (Bird Road), Miami, FL 33155 on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

On Monday, August 18, 2025, the family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:30 p.m.

The committal service will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park North, 3260 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135 at 2:00 pm.
