Jason Wilson, age 52 of East Lansing, MI, left us all far too soon on February 22, 2025. He is survived by his parents, John and Sandra Wilson, his brother John (Karen) Wilson and nephews Ben and Nick, and brother James (Hilary) Wilson, and their five children: Livia, James, Thomas, Cecilia, and John. He is also survived by his loving wife Daniella, his partner, his confidant, his everything.
Jason was an incredible gem of a man. Quiet, curious, funny, and eccentric. He had a quick wit and growl of a laugh. He was sincere, thoughtful, and generous beyond measure, with an instinctive desire to side with the underdog in every fight. The friends he made at Notre Dame, the University Chicago, and during his career in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, became friends for life and experienced his constant humor, his keen business sense, and his desire for adventure.
Jason died knowing several things were true: that Donald Trump was going to have an incredible second presidency; that Little Caesars made the best pizza on the planet; that El Azteco nachos were sacred even if they weren’t very good; and that Marcus Freeman was the answer to Notre Dame’s championship drought.
He loved fishing, boating, snow skiing, good food, 80’s music, and dive bars. He and Daniella traveled the world, loved their dogs, Capone and Boston, and cherished their time with family. He loved his work and his career and also dedicated his good fortunes to helping others.
We were all robbed of time with Jason, who battled heart problems for many years, and yet never seemed to grow older. When others were ill, he stepped in to offer counsel and help, and yet all were shocked by his sudden death. He leaves with us the memories of sarcastic wit and a kind heart, and we pray that he has found an everlasting home in heaven.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jason's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Republican Party.
