

José "Pepe" Rivero, aged 92, of Coral Gables, FL, passed away on September 12, 2024. A second-generation funeral director, Pepe began his career with the family business in Havana, Cuba, before relocating to Miami after fleeing communist Cuba. He was a distinguished figure in the funeral service industry, but more notably, he was a pillar of the community, known for his quiet generosity and unwavering support to those in need.
Pepe adored the love of his life, his wife, Adela, and was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his vibrant personality, he was often the life of the party.
In accordance with his wishes, private services were held at the Caballero Rivero Little Havana funeral home that still bears his family’s name, and he was laid to rest at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pepe is survived by wife Adela Adega; daughters Maria Elena Diaz-Padron (Juan M Diaz-Padron), Alina Maria Parjus (Alberto N. Parjus), and Ana Maria Rivero; grandchildren Cristina Maria Diaz-Padron Rodriguez (Ramon L Rodriguez), Juan Carlos Diaz-Padron (Gabriela Cristina Mendia), Alberto Jose Parjus (Christina Maria Gutierrez); and Alejandro Jose Parjus (Lina Maria Campo) and great-grandchildren Marcelo Ramon Rodriguez, Mauricio Ramon Rodriguez, Juan Javier Diaz-Padron, Diego Javier Diaz-Padron, Blair Harper Parjus, and Ari Maxwell Parjus.
