Juan is survived by his wife Anais Aurora, after 63 years of marriage; his daughter, Aurora; his grandchildren Aurora and Danny; and his sister Lourdes and brother Hector.
Juan married the love of his life, Anais Aurora on July 21, 1962, and soon after immigrated to the United States in 1964, where he settled in Dover, Delaware. On the same day he welcomed his daughter Aurora into the world, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked as an engineer for the state of Delaware for many years and served as a physics professor at Delaware State College.
In 1979 at age 40, Juan began his studies to earn his M.D., fulfilling a lifetime dream of becoming a doctor. After becoming a physician, he moved to Florida and began working as a psychiatrist in the Miami area.
One of the greatest joys of his life was the birth of his twin grandchildren, Danny and Aurora, in 2003, which prompted his retirement and relocation to Fort Myers, FL. Here, he spent the last 20 years of his life as an adoring grandfather and was immeasurably proud of his daughter, who had followed his path into medicine as a dermatologist.
Juan was a devoted father and family man. He spent much of his time reading, problem-solving, learning, and teaching. He deeply enjoyed counseling others on their educational endeavors and life plans. He was regarded as a very wise man whom people would readily turn to for advice. Juan cherished his cousins, nieces, nephews, and best friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135, on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. The burial will take place on Saturday, 21, 2026, at 1:15 p.m. at Woodlawn Park North, 3260 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135.
May he rest in peace.
