(November 1938 – December 25, 2025)
Juan Manuel Dominguez, 87, of Miami Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025.
Born in Banes, Cuba, Juan came to the United States in 1959 and graduated with honors from the University of Miami College of Engineering. He began his professional career as an Electrical Engineer in New York City with Consolidated Edison (ConEd). It was in New York where he met his future wife, Dinorah (maiden name Llanos), and together started their family. He eventually became a proud U.S. citizen and held a deep, abiding love for the country that gave him the opportunity to build a full life, rooted in hard work and family.
After more than 30 years of making the same commute (walk to the corner, catch the bus to the NYC Port Authority and then a quick walk to the office), every single day, he retired. He and Dinorah moved to a beautiful condominium on Miami Beach, with a view of the same ocean he had flown over on his way to building a brand new life from almost nothing.
Juan was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, and loyal friend. He took great pride in being an excellent father and husband, but those closest to him knew he held just as much pride—if not more—for the hole-in-one he scored in Leonia, New Jersey, in 1998. Known for his quick wit and warm sense of humor, he could make anyone laugh while also making them feel deeply cared for. He also found joy supporting his sons and grandsons in all their endeavors, academic, athletic, and otherwise.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—sharing stories, laughter, and advice with his family, tending to small acts of kindness, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Juan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dinorah Dominguez; his siblings, Juan E. Dominguez and Maria Musson; his sons, Juan Manuel Dominguez Jr. and Luis Enrique Dominguez; and his grandchildren, Sovann and Marcellus Dominguez.
Juan is and will be deeply missed. Juan’s warmth, humor, generosity, and the love he gave so freely will remain with his family and friends forever.
