Juan Alberto Rodriguez, a beloved pillar of Hialeah, Florida, traded in his golf clubs for angel wings on January 25, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on May 26, 1942, by the beautiful river of Los Jardines de Hershey in Santa Cruz del Norte, Cuba, Juan grew up in a lively home with three brothers, four sisters, and parents Hipolito Rodriguez and Ramona Ortega—meaning he learned early how to share, negotiate, and probably hide snacks.

Juan was the kind of man who never met a stranger. If you stood still long enough, he’d either start a conversation with you or try to landscape around you. Known for his tireless work ethic, he poured his heart into his career as a landscaper, shaping yards and gardens with the same care he gave to the people he loved. Many families in the community still enjoy the beauty he left behind—living reminders of his talent and dedication.

When he wasn’t making Miami a greener place, Juan could be found on the golf course or by the water with a fishing rod in hand. Whether he caught anything was beside the point—he enjoyed the peace, the sunshine, and the stories that got a little bigger every time he told them.

But nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his wife of 61 years, Clara, the love of his life and his favorite partner in everything. His world revolved around his family: his son Yosvany and wife Michele Rodriguez, his daughter Lily and husband David Pesi, and the grandkids who adored their “Abito” or “Bito”—Emily, Trevor, Jake, Claire and Michael. To them, he was equal parts hero, comedian, and soft place to land.

A Visitation to honor Juan’s life will be held at Caballero Rivero Westchester, 8200 BIRD RD, Miami, FL 33155, on January 29, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 11:59 pm. A Committal Service will follow at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014, on January 30, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Juan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Juan era el tipo de hombre que nunca conocía a un extraño. Si te quedabas quieto el tiempo suficiente, seguramente iniciaba una conversación contigo o intentaba arreglar el jardín a tu alrededor. Conocido por su incansable ética de trabajo, volcó su corazón en su carrera como jardinero, dando forma a patios y jardines con el mismo cuidado que brindaba a las personas que amaba. Muchas familias de la comunidad aún disfrutan de la belleza que dejó atrás: recordatorios vivos de su talento y dedicación.

Cuando no estaba haciendo de Miami un lugar más verde, Juan se encontraba en el campo de golf o junto al agua con una caña de pescar en la mano. Atrapar algo o no era lo de menos; disfrutaba de la tranquilidad, el sol y de las historias que crecían un poco más cada vez que las contaba.

Pero nada le brindaba más alegría que el tiempo compartido con su esposa durante 61 años, Clara, el amor de su vida y su compañera favorita en todo. Su mundo giraba en torno a su familia: su hijo Yosvany y su esposa Michele Rodríguez, su hija Lily y su esposo David Pesi, y los nietos que adoraban a su “Abito” o “Bito”: Emily, Trevor, Jake, Claire y Michael. Para ellos, era en partes iguales un héroe, un comediante y un refugio lleno de amor.
