Johnny, as he was affectionally known, loved life and lived each day to the fullest. He immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1960. He was proud to be a Cuban-American. He built a life in Miami working in real estate, sales, and security. He was rich in all the things that mattered - love for his family and life, kindness, compassion, and humility. He was selfless with those around him and many gravitated to him. Johnny touched the lives of many with his kind smile and honesty. His family was his heart and soul. He was happiest with them especially enjoying anything related to the ocean. He was a fish in a human body, snorkeling for hours. His children and grandchildren were blessed to have a fun, happy, water-loving father/grandpa teaching them about the treasures in the ocean.
Johnny enjoyed sharing his life with his wife, Eva. Both shared their love of family. They attended musicals, plays, traveled together, traveled with family and built a life full of love and friendship. Johnny, the husband, father, grandfather and friend will be missed tremendously. He is survived by his wife, his children, grandchildren, and his trusty companion, Bam Bam.
May seashells guide him to his next home and may he find peace surrounded by those who have gone before him. For those who remain, may you find peace in the memories created with Johnny.
Due to the current state of the pandemic, there will be a delay in the memorial service. This will be updated at a later date.
If you’d like to make a donation on Johnny’s behalf, the Histiocytosis Association of America is a foundation that was near to his heart or a donation can be made to a marine rescue foundation of your choosing.
