Life will never be the same without our beautiful neighbor & friend, Kathy.  Although our talks were always brief bcz Kathy was always juggling so many things.  Her first priority was her loving son, Jeremy, her teaching career,  her mom, sister (& Celi’s family), friends, neighbors & her illness.  Kathy never stopped.  She always had positive & kind words to say.  Not an ounce of negativity!  I learned a lot from this very young, beautiful & brilliant woman!  You’re already truly missed.   You were one of a kind & the world was a better place with you in it.  We will always love you Kathiria Diaz!  

Dear Kathy,
My heart is heavy and  I am deeply saddened to hear that you are no longer  with the ones who Love you.  I remember when we first met how we embraced each other with tears of gratitude and joy as Marcos and Corie returned from Iraq. We went on to create memories of laughter and love in Disney Land , Las Vegas and my visit to Miami. Thank you for sharing your wonderful spirit of , intelligence, compassion  respect, laughter and love to say the least. You will be deeply missed but  you leave an everlasting legacy to your family, friends and each student whose life that you touched and changed. It is a blessing to have encountered one of God's best creations, thank you for allowing Corie and I to be apart .

Dear Kat, 
It is so difficult for me to put into words what i am feeling. Your loss is a tragedy to all that knew you, and to those that never got the chance to know you. I met you when you were around 16-17; you were spunky, smart, sweet. I will always remember that laugh and smile, your heart of gold and your cute little raspy voice; these are the things that made you, you. Your time on this earth was short. I am angry that you were taken away from your family, your son. But if there is one i can promise you, is that you will always be a part of Jeremy’s life.  Your life and legacy will be honored, and continue to live on through him. He is a treasure that you left the rest of us. 
This is not goodbye, it’s see you later. Love you always! 

Kat, you made the lives of every single person who ever met you better.  While your time here was too short, your legacy will be here for generations to come. You taught more than academics, you taught compassion, empathy, acceptance, resilience, and you showed strength beyond measure. 

I love you, I admire you, I respect you, I miss you, and I thank you.  Jeremy has been given the firmest foundation upon which he will build an incredible life as you continue to guide him.
