Leon Anthony Chin-Shue was born on April 27, 1931, in Clarendon, Jamaica and passed away on November 13, 2016 in Pembroke Pines where he resided. He married Celeste Hue and together they raised their four children in Kingston, Jamaica before immigrating to Miami Beach, Florida in 1977.
Leon had many passions, including the breeding of tropical fish, such as angelfish and swordfish, as well as the crossbreeding and arrangement of tropical plants, including hibiscus. He was always artistic and prideful in the kitchen, astounding everyone with his attention to detail and creative genius. He was an avid reader and a talented writer, writing acrostic poems to share with family members and providing a channel for his thoughts and emotions. His fascination with the medical field kept him healthy and his love for his family kept them informed.
Leon is survived by his wife, Celeste, his four children: Richard (Dawn), Dian (Michael Hew), Andrea (James Kong), and Noel (Eleine); his eight grandchildren: Melissa Hew-Tarradath (Kwesi), Kimberly Johnson (Jason), Katrina Lee (Brett), Lauren Hew (Sam), Kevin Chin-Shue, Stephanie Hew, Chelsea Kong, and Jessica Chin-Shue; and his four great grandchildren: Olive, Vera, Leon, and Eloise Johnson. Despite the weakness in his body, his mind was forever sharp and his heart will be forever treasured.
