Lila Blanco

Lila was born on October 28, 1932 in the city of Orientent, Cuba. She was the daughter of Damian Duran, and Rudesinda Suarez. She was one of five sisters, Esmelita Duran, Esbelty Duran, Egypta Duran, Edra Duran, and Siria, and Ovidio. Throughout her life Lila was loved by her family, she was well known for her compassion, and generosity to those she loved, and all her sacrifices that she made especially in Cuba, when she had to let her two young boys come to live in America,without her and their father, because of the unfair judgement of the Castro regime. She was a terrific seamstress, always making her grandchildren and great grandchildren costumes for their events. She made the best meals, especially her rice and black beans and palomilla steaks, and flan, that she made for us all whenever we visited.

Lila was ambitious, and loved to read, and do crossword puzzles, which she did very often for fun. She made it a goal to finish her schooling and graduated with her GED from high school while here in Miami, and then went on to work at the airport for many years as a TSA officer.

Her loving husband's name was Eduardo A. Blanco. They had two sons whom they loved; her eldest predeceased son, Eddy Blanco, and her youngest son, Rudy Blanco.

Her grandchildren are: Christy Garcia, Jonathan Blanco, Michael Blanco,Isabel Harbertz, Alexander Blanco, Natalie Donoso, and Annemarie Blanco. Her great grandchildren are: Ella Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Luke Harbertz, Mila Harbertz, Benjamin Blanco, Elliot Blanco and Violet Jane Donoso.

Lila's memory will forever live in all our hearts, she was a remarkable sister, wife, mother, grandmother,great grandmother and friend to all. We all feel blessed to have had her in our lives and we thank God for her. Although she suffered so much, she had faith and prayed to God. She put her trust in Jesus Christ her Savior many years ago, and because of this we know she is in His arms and we will see her again someday in Heaven, and be reunited with her. John 3:16

Evangelista Blanco, de 94 años, residente de Miami, falleció el sábado 9 de mayo de 2026.

Lila nació el 28 de octubre de 1932 en la ciudad de Oriente. Fue hija de Damian Duran y Rudesinda Suarez. Fue una de cinco hermanas: Esmelita Duran, Esbelty Duran, Egypta Duran, Edra Duran, además de Siria y Ovidio.

A lo largo de su vida, Lila fue profundamente amada por su familia. Era muy conocida por su compasión, su generosidad hacia quienes amaba y por todos los sacrificios que hizo, especialmente en Cuba, cuando tuvo que dejar que sus dos hijos pequeños vinieran a vivir a América sin ella ni su padre, debido a las injustas decisiones del régimen de Castro. Fue una excelente costurera, siempre confeccionando disfraces para sus nietos y bisnietos para sus eventos especiales. Preparaba las mejores comidas, especialmente su arroz con frijoles negros, los bistecs de palomilla y el flan que hacía para toda la familia cada vez que la visitábamos.

Lila era una mujer ambiciosa, amante de la lectura y de los crucigramas, los cuales disfrutaba hacer con frecuencia. Se propuso terminar sus estudios y obtuvo su diploma de equivalencia de escuela secundaria (GED) aquí en Miami. Luego trabajó durante muchos años en el aeropuerto como oficial de la TSA.

El nombre de su amado esposo era Eduardo A. Blanco. Tuvieron dos hijos a quienes amaron profundamente: su hijo mayor, Eddy Blanco, quien falleció antes que ella, y su hijo menor, Rudy Blanco.

Sus nietos son: Christy Garcia, Jonathan Blanco, Michael Blanco, Isabel Harbertz, Alexander Blanco, Natalie Donoso y Annemarie Blanco.

Sus bisnietos son: Ella Garcia, Matthew Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Luke Harbertz, Mila Harbertz, Benjamin Blanco, Elliot Blanco y Viole Jane Donoso.

La memoria de Lila vivirá para siempre en nuestros corazones. Fue una hermana, esposa, madre, abuela, bisabuela y amiga extraordinaria para todos. Todos nos sentimos bendecidos de haberla tenido en nuestras vidas y damos gracias a Dios por ella. Aunque sufrió mucho, mantuvo su fe y oró a Dios. Hace muchos años puso su confianza en Jesus Christ como su Salvador, y por eso sabemos que ahora está en Sus brazos y que algún día la volveremos a ver en el Cielo y nos reuniremos con ella nuevamente.
