

Albert, beloved Son, Brother, Father, Husband, Friend, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Great-Great-Grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born in Coleyville, Jamaica to Helen Rebecca and Cecil Alford Powell. Albert was predeceased by his sister, Cecile Dixon, and his children, Terrence Powell and Marice Powell. He is survived by his siblings, Linford Powell, Patricia Drinkwater, William Powell, and Frances Delgado.
Albert grew up in Succeed, Jamaica and was a proud alumnus of Bryce School and Church, later attending Mandeville High School. His life was a testament to devotion to both his family and community, and he treasured his relationship with his late wife, Pauline Patricia Powell, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage before her passing in 2005.
A dedicated father, he was the proud parent of nine children: Annette, Chyrell, Claire, Laura Ann, Janice, Albert Junior, Tashnie, and his late children, Terrence and Marice. He was also a grandfather to twenty-five grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Albert was a successful businessman and a pillar of the community, founded and managed several businesses, including A&P Powell Limited, Spaulding Block and Tile Factory, Chudleigh Quarry, Block and Tile Factory, Somerset Enterprises Limited, Quarry, Concrete and Pavers, Party Time Rental, Etched In Stone Headstones and Memorial, and Simmer Down Restaurant. Additionally, he managed a pig farm that was an evolving hobby.
Albert leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family, friends, and the community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him as family, friend, and mentor. His memory will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of his life will be held in Miami at Kendall Church of God Saturday February 8, 2025, at 4:00pm 8795 SW 112 St., Miami, FL 33176.
