Louise Dufresne Destro, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at the age of 92. She was born on September 12, 1931, in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, to the late Emma and Anthime Dufresne. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, Samuel Destro.
Louise was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness, grace, and unwavering love. She was the cherished mother of Danielle (Dale Hansen), Anthony, Timothy, and Louis. Her devotion to her children was unmatched, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
As a grandmother to Dale, Noelle, Elizabeth, and Brandon, Louise found immense joy in their presence. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and took pride in watching them grow. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to eight, each one bringing light and happiness into her life.
Louise was a beloved sister to Fern and Danielle, and although her brothers Yvon, Jean Marc, Maurice, Romeo, and Marcel have passed on, their memories remained close to her heart. Louise treasured her time with Brandon’s mother Lisa Apple as well as Lisa’s parents who are no longer with us. She also leaves behind a much-loved caregiver, Giovanna Yarrow, whose dedication and support brought comfort to Louise in her final days.
Together with her husband, Samuel, Louise built a successful small business. After Sam passed Louise continued to work alongside her son Louis.
For 60 years, Louise was a devoted member of the Church of the Little Flower, where she will be remembered fondly by her community. A funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at the church, honoring her faith and commitment.
Louise Dufresne Destro will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
