November 11, 1961 – May 21, 2025
Luis “Louie” Bernardo Jaramillo, a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and proud Miami Hurricane, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family.
Born on November 11, 1961, in Bogotá, Colombia, Louie came to the United States at just six months old, where he and his family planted roots in Miami—a city that would forever remain close to his heart. He graduated from Southwest Miami Senior High School in 1979 and went on to attend the University of Miami, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and proudly played on the football team’s special teams’ unit.
Louie later served on the coaching staff at the University of Louisville, where he also earned his master’s degree. A gifted athlete and passionate fan, Louie carried his love for the game into coaching and mentoring, not only at the collegiate level but also as a dedicated youth coach. He found great joy in guiding and inspiring young athletes, leaving a lasting impact on many lives.
Louie’s love for life was matched only by the love he had for his family. He was the cherished husband of Lisbeth and the proud father of three beautiful children: John, Isabella, and Giancarlo. His face lit up with pride whenever he spoke of them, and his legacy lives on through their lives, character, and dreams.
He was an avid supporter of the Miami Hurricanes—never missing a game, always cheering loudly, and often wearing the orange and green with pride. Whether it was football season or family gatherings, Louie’s energy, warmth, and humor brought people together.
Louie will be remembered for his deep sense of loyalty, his generous heart, and the quiet strength he carried through life’s many challenges. He was a man of faith, love, and unwavering resilience, and he leaves behind a legacy of compassion and courage.
Louie’s life was a gift to all who knew him, and his spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife Lisbeth, his children John, Isabella, and Giancarlo, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
