We miss you every day, Maria. Your spirit lives on in your children and grandchildren. I am so grateful to have known you and love you. Please continue to watch over us. We love you.

One of the strongest and most caring people I’ve ever known. Maria was truly a genuine, and loving person towards me and my family. She was always sharing words of wisdom with me on how important getting my college degree was. “ Frank tu tienes que terminar esos estudios” she reiterated many times.
I will always remember her for her nurturing ways and gentle spirit. Although we have lost a wonderful person, Heaven just gained an angel.

Aunt Toto was like my Angel since I was 5. She allowed me to play with her lipsticks and jewelery and at 12 she rescue me from Lady of Lourdes school in Cuba She audited my exam to enter Preparatory and proved my scores were wrong. I had been scored a C when it should have been an A. Enough for my mother to move me to the Edison Institute where I became a valedictorian. Never forgotten Thank you auntie Toto. love you always

Marcelo and I grew up together, and over the years we both connected deeply with each other’s families. Mima, as she was affectionately called by her children, was a steady presence throughout those formative years in my life. She was always encouraging me and making certain I understood the importance of getting a good education and finishing college. Truthfully, she filled in that crucial gap that my own well-meaning but tired parents couldn’t. Several years later, after fulfilling a promise made long ago to my own mom, I walked across the stage to accept my diploma, but it was Mima’s voice in my heart. I will always remember her bright, soulful eyes that had known the deepest loss, and the most profound love. I will always be grateful and thank God that Mima, Tere, Michelle, and Marcelo, my oldest friend, best man, and brother, shared their family warmth with me, especially during those impressionable years. I know that without them, without Mima, my life would be less. Hers truly was a beautiful life, blessed and fully loved, and a shining model of perseverance, thoughtfulness, strength, and grace.

Maria was such a beautiful, strong, spiritual, intelligent, and generous woman. My daughters and I are so grateful for the time we spent with her. She loved to laugh and be with her beautiful family. Maria will always be missed and deeply loved. Rest in peace, beautiful, sweet Maria. We love you so much.

I can remember back in High School coming to either pick up or drop off Marcelo and always seeing Maria. She always had a smile on her face and always welcomed me into her home. She reminded me a lot of my grandmother. Although the years passed I always thought of her every time I would drive to work down US-1 and see her house. My heart and prayers are with you all. God bless her
