Maria del Carmen Rodriguez-Houder

Born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, Maria graduated from the University of Miami and the Universidad Central del Este Medical School in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. She devoted her personal and professional life to helping others, practicing as a Physician’s Associate for over 30 years where she provided medical care, counseling, and education to her patients, many of whom became close friends. Maria enjoyed volunteering helping children, caring for animals, traveling, and in retirement, a rediscovered joy for reading. Maria will be most remembered for her compassion, generosity, and uplifting spirit as a loving mother and beloved little sister. She is survived by her son, John Henry, and siblings, Christina, Martha, Lourdes, Frank, and Ralph, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Westchester, located at 8200 Bird Rd, Miami, FL 33155-3335. The visitation is scheduled for February 12, 2026, starting at 6:00 pm and concluding at 9:15 am the following day.

The committal service will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th St, Doral, FL 33172, United States, on February 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
