

Mario Genovevo Perez, known affectionately as Geno, passed away on July 1st, 2024, at the age of 79 in Miami, Florida. Born on January 3rd, 1945, in Havana, Cuba, Geno was a man whose life was marked by his kindheartedness, generosity, and humor.
Geno's passion for the outdoors was evident through his hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was renowned as the best Lechonero EVER, always the highlight of gatherings with his delicious roast pork. His love for nature extended to his Santa Fe Ranch, where he spent hours planting and tending to his plants, he loved spending time in nature, whether in a boat on the ocean or on his riding mower with his grandchildren on his lap.
Beyond his hobbies, Geno was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Nancy; children, Lizbet and Jason, Mario and Greta, Christian and Judith; his grandchildren, Mario Jr., Alyssa, Jason, Jacob, Christian Alexander, and Alexa; and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Evangeline, and Nathaniel. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
The services to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home, Woodlawn South, located at 11655 SW 117th Ave., Miami, Florida. On July 8th, from 6p-11pm. And burial will be held at our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, located at 11411 NW 25th St., Doral, Florida, on July 9th, at 11am. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home and our Lady of Mercy Cemeteries Catholic Cemeteries, for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Geno's legacy of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
