Melvin Antonio Chin, age 83, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2025.
Born on October 26, 1941 in Jamaica, Melvin Antonio Chin was the son of Thomas and Lily (Wong) Chin. Melvin graduated from St. Georges College in Jamaica. His passion was his love for God and was a born again believer of Jesus Christ. He was devoted and served at his church with his wife at Abundant Living Ministries in Pembroke Pines Florida as a greeter, and part of the prayer team. He also loved to praise and worship God. Melvin showed he was a godly man by being a godly husband and father. Very rarely would you see Melvin without his wife at his side. He was "old school" in the fact that he would open and close the car door for his wife. He also had a love for all kinds of foods.
Melvin married his wife, Lupe on February 23, 1967, in Jamaica. Together they raised two children, Mark and Sharon, and celebrated 58 years of a beautiful marriage. Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Lupe, his daughter, Sharon; three grandchildren and their spouses: Debbie (Will), Kristin (Gary), David (Ana); four great grandchildren: Travis, Lucas, Haley, and Lindsey; four siblings: Reuben, Joan, Peter, and Paul; daughter-in-law, Kathy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Lily Chin; his son Mark Chin.
Those who would like to make a celebration of life contribution in Melvin's name are encouraged to make a donation to Abundant Living Ministries, in lieu of flowers. You can go to the website, alm.org and click on Invest.
Fond memories of Melvin lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. But there is nothing like having peace knowing that he is finally home in heaven rejoicing and worshiping God, and that we who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, will see him again.
