I worked with Nick for over three years. He was always upbeat and helpful. A real class act. He will be missed . My family and I will keep you in our prayers.

I only met your son once and I could see how much he loved you and how special he was.  He is now safe and resting in the Lord's Arms.  You now have a guardian angel to watch over you and many beautiful memories to hold you through this sadness.  You and your family are in my prayers.

Frank and I never had the pleasure of meeting  Nicholas, but if he was anything like his mother Asia, we are sure that he was raised to be an upstanding and very thoughtful man. We are so sorry for your loss and know that he will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Asia.  May the Holy Spirit give you strength.

Still can't believe it.  Will miss seeing you out working in your yard whenever I'm back in Bowie.  Your smile and kindness will be greatly missed.  My thoughts are and will be with Stephanie and your family.  Take a walk with Frank, Ginger & Gizmo (miss them too) and know that I'm forever grateful for all the nice things you've done for my family over the years.

Our condolences. He will be greatly missed. Definitely a one of a kind individual. Nick and I often spoke often about gardening techniques and recipes for improved soil. We always done comparisons between his and my garden. We would laugh about each others ideas for improved vegetables. He was a true professional at work, always did everything by the book no matter what. You could tell he was a lover of life and just a great guy to be around. I will keep him in my prayers.

We are just in shock that Nick is gone.  We will so miss his smile and conversations about the yard and listening to his expertise about almost anything he put his mind to.  

He had such a warm and welcoming presence.  He was such a calm n peaceful person but so MIGHTY!    I never saw him get angry or heard him say an unkind word about anyone.

 He helped us by cutting down trees, putting up fences, fixing cars, installing appliances, shoveling snow for neighbors just to name a few things and never expected anything in return.   I hope he knew how much his friendship meant to us.

I am sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

One of the foundational characteristics of a true professional like Nick is that he was serious about his occupation. In other words, he understood that his occupation as an Aircraft Inspector is challenging and he must be dedicated to succeeding. We all know people who make light of this requirement. The job is only a job, they say. A means to an end. Nick did not feel that way because that is not a sign of a true professional.

Professionals like Nick Kong exhibit a never-ending quest to improve their performance in every variable, every project, every relationship and every detail.

If everything at work always went smoothly and as hoped for, that would be great. But it would also be a miracle. Stuff happens, things change, and the true professional like Nick rises to the occasion. He would make a new plan, change direction if necessary and never look back  because that's the only road to success.

Our mothers told it to us when we were young, and it's still true today. Attitude is everything. Those like Nick who exhibit enthusiasm for what they do and greet each day with a positive attitude inevitably become our leaders. I never questioned his ability or talent as a bonified leader.

Our mothers were right again. Professionals understand that real success in the workplace requires teamwork. So Nick Kong was always ready to lend a hand, make a suggestion and offer a compliment when it's was deserved.

One of the great strengths of a real professional as Nick is in taking the initiative to get things done. Words like, that's not my job was not in his vocabulary. He recognized what needs to be done and took on the task, great or small.

If there weren't pressure in the workplace occasionally, they wouldn't call it work. But Nick Kong, the true professional never pointed fingers. He remained level headed and calm, with a cheerful demeanor  even under stressful times.

Nick Kong, the consummate and true professional remain focused on the task at hand and the goal ahead. Nick successfully navigated through obstacles and setbacks but never lost sight of where he was going.

It isn't always easy to stick your neck out, but true professionals aren't faint of heart. Nick would analyze the situation and was always willing to take new paths and try new solutions. That's why they call it leadership!

I will surely miss Nick and his pleasant demeanor. His low-keyed leadership style and qualities will be a challenge if possible to replace or even approach. Nick Kong was and will be the benchmark of the professional aircraft inspector. 

Nick Kong a Leader? You don't have to wear the 'management' moniker to be a leader - such men rise and succeed with dignity, without realizing others listen intently, watch the actions, seek the sage wisdom and advice, model the bearings of those men, like the one known and respected, our sorely missed, Nick Kong.

I'm in total shock !! Nick was not only a good friend but a great co-worker. We worked together for many years at DCA and IAD. I still remember the first time I taxied an Airbus320 with Nick at DCA, he was so thorough it was just the way Nick was with every task on hand. You will be missed my friend !! Prayers to your loved ones.

Please accept my sympathies at the death of your loved one. Know that the God of comfort feel your pain and sorrow. Isaiah 61:1,2 reads: " He sent me (Jesus Christ) to bind up the brokenhearted, . . . To comfort all who mourn, . . . "

Nick, I can not believe you have left us so soon and so abrupt. Rest In Peace my friend.  I will miss you. I will miss your smile, your laughter, your stories, and your professional advice. Our inspection department have a great lost in your passing. You will be missed my friend and teammate, but your spirit And memories will always  be cherished.

Hard to imagine you won't be at IAD physically to guide me through the night!  But you will be in my heart with advise and smiles!  Blessings to your family and Stephanie!  I will miss your humor!  Brothers in aviation forever!

Nick was a great coworker and friend. I don't remember ever seeing him without a smile, or him ever in a bad mood. He was the type person always willing to help anyone who had a question about a job and would share his knowledge if he knew a way to make a job easier. He will be missed by many not just at Dulles but I'm sure all who knew him. On behalf of my family, our deepest sympathies to his family and his fiancé. My God bring peace in this time of sorrow.

Dear Nick God bless you. I cant believe you are gone. You were such a wonderful person and you will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Stephanie who you loved so dearly the 29 years that you were together. My deepest condolences to Nick's mother, his brothers and the rest of his family. May he rest in peace.

Nick was a great guy who was willing to help everyone he saw!!  He and Stephanie were so welcoming to me when I moved in next door.  I will really miss seeing his smiling face!  My prayers are with Stephanie and the rest of Nick's family!

   It's been my pleasure to work with you these past 5 years at IAD. You definitely set the standard for professionalism. Never refusing to help someone that needed a hand. Either instructing a tech which plugs for a boroscope to remove or buying off a critical item, you made my job as a Lead so much easier! I enjoyed your friendship as much as I enjoyed working with you.  Although you are no longer here physically, your spirit will live on.  You will always be midnight shift's "Nick at Night!!"
