🕊️ 🕊️ 🕊️ Beloved Pilar’s name will be announced this Sunday at 6pm mass at  St Jude  located at 126 SE 15th Road Miami, FL 33129  to whoever wishes to attend is a mass of remembering loved ones 🙏🏼   I’m at loss of words ..My dear Pilar miss you, I’m still in shock of this sudden departure, passing by your apartment to think that I’m not going to hear your voice & to see you give your cat her food.  I know you wanted the cat inside your home I know, she is your little companion that you loved-she’ll miss you lots 🐈 🐈‍⬛.  I’m going to give her  food on your behalf my dear.  Looking at my phone we spoke on Dec 1 for like 47 mins..kiss 😿

What a Wonderful Woman!!! I loved to see her smile. She was always so thoughtful and kind with me, my mom and my boys. She loved my sister and her children. They would go to her apartment and play. It was such a blow to lose her so quickly. She will be Greatly Missed!!! We Loved Her So Much!!!
May God protect her and care for her. My heart goes out to her family. She spoke of all of you so much and with fondness.

I am so thankful that I had this amazing woman in my life. She was a friend and confidant during hard times and an amazing abuela to my daughter. Another Angel got her much deserved wings. Prayers to Tony, Henry, Ernie and all the grands. I am sure she is sticking her tongue out at you all.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear mother.  Her love and presence touched the live of many and her memory will forever be in our hearts.  

May peace and comfort find you during this difficult time.

Pila was my favorite family member, along with my Uncle Jorge. Those two together were a riot. She loved Garfield (anything with cats) and I would buy the Garfield books at my scholastic book fairs as a kid because of her. She and I had a special relationship. She spoke very openly and sincerely, rarely mincing words. In Cuban Spanish, someone who says it like it is was known as “No tiene pelo en la lengua”, and Pila had zero hairs on her tongue. Fiercely independent, only calling for help as a last resort in order to not bother. She never bothered. I always found ways to make her laugh,  just to hear her Betty Rubble giggle. We talked about lots of stuff- we both having an affinity for the pyramids and King Tut. She loved my little family like her own, especially my dog Max. My girls loved Pila so much and are crushed about her passing. She was so loyal and loving. Always looking out, always staying in touch, always following up. We Love you Pila. Life will not be the same without you in it, but you’ll live on in our memories and dreams. Godspeed. Nelsito y Fam.

Es con gran dolor y dolor que debo compartir con familia y amigos el fallecimiento de mi amada madre Pilar González a los 83 años. Estaba en paz, muy cómoda, y nunca sola al final.

Nació en Cuba el 5 de Febrero de 1940. Ella y mi padre se embarcaron en un viaje desconocido a este país a una edad temprana con pocos medios y tres hijos en la grúa (sin miedo). Se basaron en una ética de trabajo tenaz y un voraz amor a la familia para crear una vida maravillosa para ellos mismos y para nosotros cuatro chicos (sí tenían un gringo aquí) que nunca querían nada. Nos apreciaba ella, hasta que llegaron los nietos, entonces creo que se nos cayó un poco.

Era maestra en Cuba, pero se educó, aprendió el idioma y finalmente se convirtió en una tecnológica central de suministros hospitalarios que trabajó en el Hospital Larkin durante muchos años hasta su jubilación (tuve que rogarle).

Mi madre era una persona muy independiente, manejando y comprando para ella misma hasta su muerte. Ella amaba a los gatos (tal vez demasiado) y cualquier cosa que ver con el antiguo Egipto. Ella y papá se las arreglaron para visitar en años posteriores y estaba en el cielo. Creo que ella pensó que era la hermana gemela perdida de Tutankhamun, o algo así. La mayoría de lo que mi madre era conocida realmente por su capacidad para hacer amigos en cualquier lugar. Tenía muchos en su vida. Aunque vivía sola, nunca estaba sola.

Mamá será extrañada por su familia y por todos sus queridos amigos, pasados y presentes. Por sus deseos, no habrá vista. Ella será incinerada y colocada para descansar con las cenizas de mi padre en el Parque Memorial de Miami. Por la gracia de Dios, ahora se reúne con mi padre y mi hermano.

Quizá tengamos una celebración de su vida en su casa después de eso mantendrá a su familia y amigos informados.
