Regina was born in Havana, Cuba on September 3,1926. She graduated from The University of Havana Cuba and continued on to receive a Masters Degree from University of Gainesville, Florida in pharmacology.
Regina was married to Manuel Fernandez on August 16,1983; they were married 35 years.
Regina worked as a Pharmacist for Ali’s Pharmacy which she and her husband owned. After selling Ali’s Pharmacy, Regina worked for various companies like Navarro Pharmacy, Mercy Hospital Pharmacy to name a few. She enjoyed Gardening and was actively involved in charities at her church, Our Lady of the Lakes.
Regina is survived by her husband Manuel Fernandez Sr., step children Lourdes Fernandez, Manuel Fernandez Jr. and Yvonne Fernandez, and her grandchildren Michael Fernandez, Megan Calisto, David Ortega, and Maggie Wilson, also her cousins, Armando Alonso, Gloria Gonzalez, Elsa Alonso, Arturo Gonzalez Jr., Gloria Tito, Silvia Gonzalez and other family and friends.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents Amadeo Garcia Menedez and Regina Alonso y Ramos. The visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home in Little Havana on June 4th. Deacon Inda will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Funeral Home in Little Havana from 5pm-10pm on Monday, June 4th. Entombment will follow the funeral at Woodlawn Park North Cemetery at 10am on Tuesday, June 5th. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Caballero Rivero Funeral Home in Little Havana.
