Renee Carral, 95, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Born on July 27, 1930, in Cuba, Renee lived a long and vibrant life marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering spirit.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Miguel Carral and Ceferina Carral, and the cherished sister of Lidia Santos.
Renee was known for her sharp wit, quick thinking, and wonderfully playful sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. She embraced life wholeheartedly, and her warmth and spirit drew people to her wherever she went. Her love for her family was boundless and deeply expressed in both big and small moments.
She delighted in life’s simple pleasures—always ready for a spontaneous lunch or time spent together with loved ones. Some of her happiest moments were shared during beach vacations, where her face would light up with pure joy, creating memories that will forever be treasured.
Even in the face of pain and illness, Renee demonstrated extraordinary strength and determination, never once giving up. On her final beach trip, despite discomfort, she stood strong, gazed at the ocean, and declared with courage, “This will not conquer me—I am going in the ocean.” That moment reflects the resilience and fearless spirit that defined her life.
She is survived by her sister, Lidia Santos; her nephew, Nelson Santos and his spouse, Miriam Santos; her niece, Betty Hernandez and her spouse, Nilson Hernandez; her great-nieces and nephews, Nelsito Santos, Adrian Santos (spouse Bri Santos), Rebecca Cruz (spouse Mike Cruz), and Peter Moreno; and her great-great-nieces, Mia Bella Cruz and Gabriela Cruz.
Renee’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of strength, joy, and deep devotion to family will never be forgotten.
