Rosa Aguiar

Rosa Aguiar aged 99, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, in Miami, Florida. Born on November 8th, 1925, in Camagüey, Cuba, like so many others from her generation she fled the island with her husband and two young children in 1960 for Miami, Florida and settled in Westchester to start a new and better life.

Rosa led a life marked by hard work, generosity, and dedication to her family. In her early career, Rosa worked as a reservation agent in the airline industry in Cuba and in Miami, FL. She then obtained her real estate license in the early seventies and was an active realtor for more than 50 years, making her final sale before retiring at age 92. She worked with a passion in real estate, helping many individuals and families along the way. She also made time to give back to her community with a special dedication to volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon and her son, Raymond. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Eugenia Porro and her husband Juan Luis Porro, her grandchildren John Porro and his wife Tania with their children Daniela and John Cristian; Frank Porro and his wife Karen with their children Lucas, Bianca, and Nicolas; Ed Porro and his wife Sandra; Alex Porro and his wife Karla with their daughter Maeve; Amy Aguiar Riley with her son Donivyn; Danny Aguiar and his wife Hailey and children Dominic, Dean, Avery, and Easton; Sophia Aguiar and her husband David Moore; and Taylor Rose Aguiar. Rosa is also survived by her sister Amalia Pujol.

Rosa will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She was well respected in the community and loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A visitation for Rosa will be held on Monday, January 20th,2025 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the Caballero Rivero Funeral Home at 8200 Bird Rd, Miami, FL 33155. A Catholic funeral mass will be held in Rosa’s honor at St. Louis Catholic Church in Pinecrest, FL on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, at 11:30 am with a committal service to follow at 1:00pm at Miami Memorial Park. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Rosa’s life.
