Virginia Seamans Parker, known affectionately as Gini, passed away on August 9, 2024, in Miami, Florida. Born on November 21, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was 81 years old at the time of her passing.
Gini was a beautiful person, one of the nicest people you could ever know, liked by all she encountered. As a 2nd grade teacher, she dedicated many years to nurturing young minds in Miami Dade County Public Schools. Outside of her professional life, Gini was full of life, and always the first to help organize a friend or family event. Deeply involved with her family, she enjoyed traveling, winter ski trips, family vacations, family reunions and all her relatives’ graduations and celebrations. Always active, and involved, she was a proud member, and Secretary, of Omicron chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Society of Outstanding Women Educators. She held a master’s degree in education from Florida Atlantic University.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Parker, and was a caring mother to her stepchildren, Sherry Zastera, Connie Martin, and David Parker. Gini was a central figure in a large, close, and affectionate family, including her siblings Robert (Bobby) Seamans, Harry Seamans, Susan (Susie) Russum, Sandra (Sandee) Wollard, and William (Billy) Seamans. Her life was one of selfless giving and she enriched the lives of many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Gini was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Seamans and Carmalita Kolb Seamans, and her sister, Carmalita Levine.
