Virginia "Ginny" Maria Schueler suddenly passed away August 2, 2024. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba January 28, 1946, to parents Juan Federico Porro and Virginia Susan Eng Porro. Her Father was of Cuban descent born in Cuba and her Mother Irish, Norwegian, American descent born in Newton Massachusetts. Juan attended college at Boston University and that's when he met Virginia. They married and built their family in Cuba. They resided in their home "the Quinta" in Camaguey with Juan's Mother and Father. Virginia was raised Catholic. She was one of three children. She had a sister, Anita Torres De Navarra and brother Juan Federio Porro JR. (deceased). They grew up together in Camaguey. The family lived there till she was 14 years old when a change of events took over and they had to relocate to Miami FL. Once in America they often visited Boston, Massachusetts to visit her mother's family. It was one of Virginia's favorite places to visit. She loved to know about the history of where her Mother was from and to hear stories about her Grandparents. Her cousins from her father's side would often visit them in FL. and stay in Miami Beach. All the family and young cousins would visit with each other. A visit my mother would look forward to.
Virginia attended High school at Miami Edison High. Later in her 20's she met Ronald Irving Schueler, of German American descent while having lunch in a restaurant with her mother. They later married and had a Daughter, Yvette Genevieve, born in Miami FL. on April 3, 1971. Her only child. They lived in North Miami. Later Virginia and Ronald divorced. After a few years, Virginia relocated to West Hialeah, where she purchased her own Condominium on a new development on the Lake where she and her daughter resided. She was proud of her new home and loved her view of the Lake. She later found her love of Real Estate and was motivated to meet new people and find homes for her clients.
She was a churchgoer of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic church. She made donations to the Humane Society for her love of animals. She loved her pets, past and present. Nicky her beloved Yorkie and Sopita her Schnauzer. She adored her cat, Coco whom she rescued as a stray. She loved feeding the ducks that would come by the lake. She had a passion for plants. She hand painted her plant pots and found happiness in caring for them. She cherished her friendships and considered her friends family. She would always make an effort to talk with friends on a daily basis. She had an admiration for all things feminine. Pink was her favorite color and that reflected in her personal style and home decor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Yvette, Granddaughter Franceska, Son-in-law Jerry, Ronald ex husband, sister, Anita and her loving cousins.
Virginia would reminisce about her life in Cuba at the Quinta. Her childhood there, the country and pets left behind stayed in her heart till she passed.
