

Yolanda Rodriguez Ortiz, age 89, of Miami, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was born on March 15, 1935, in Fomento, Cuba, to parents who instilled in her a deep love for family, music, and cooking. Her mother, originally from Puerto Rico, played a significant role in shaping Yolanda’s cultural roots. Throughout her life, Yolanda was known for her kindness, generosity, and caring nature. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and her warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Yolanda’s love for music was a cornerstone of her life. She shared her beautiful voice with her church, where she sang with passion and devotion. Music was not just a hobby but a means of expressing her faith and love for her community. Yolanda was deeply involved in her church, and her singing brought joy and comfort to many. Her voice was a gift that touched hearts and lifted spirits, leaving behind a lasting legacy of devotion to her faith and her family.
In addition to her love for music, Yolanda was a remarkable cook. She had a gift for creating delicious meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Her culinary skills were a reflection of her nurturing spirit, and her cooking was a source of comfort and joy for those fortunate enough to enjoy it. Yolanda’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Yolanda is survived by her daughter Martha Lina; and her son Luis Fernando; her grandson Luis Fernando, her granddaughter Mayla Martha, her granddaughter Mayla Margarita and her 5 great grandkids.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her son Carlos Enrique.
A visitation for Yolanda will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 am the following day at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135.
