Charles W. Orth Sr.

ORTH SR., Charles W., age 77 of West Carrollton, formerly of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 26, 1935 in Dayton to the late Karl Orth and Mary (Horner) Orth Stettler. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his stepfather, Webb Stettler and first wife, Joan Orth (1988). He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Bobbie Jean (Goans) Meeker Orth; children, Chuck (Cindy) Orth, Jr. of Miamisburg, Randy (Kim) Orth of West Carrollton, Karla (Jeff) Carroll of Kettering, and Rick Orth of Berea, KY; step-children, Gregory Allen (Barb) Meeker of Miamisburg, Christopher Lee Meeker of Miamisburg and Sharon Lynn (Steve) Meeker Hart of West Carrollton; grandchildren, Mike (Wendi) Orth, Billy Orth, Chuck Orth III, Kaley Orth, Zack Orth, Chad (Sonyua) Orth, Michelle (Shawn) Pyle, Tiffany Burgess, Jeffery Carroll, Steve Carroll, Doug Carroll, Taryn (Jagger) Kohler, Tiffany (Dave) Norfleet, Joanna Orth, Dylon Orth, Douglas Meeker, Derrick Meeker, Danny Meeker, Kylee Meeker, Jared Meeker, Carson Meeker and Benjamin Meeker as well as numerous great grandchildren. Chuck attended Miamisburg High School and had been employed by NCR and Continental Can before retiring from Mound (EG&G) as a quality control specialist. Chuck was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1645 and the Fraternal Order of Masons. He enjoyed collecting antique tools, being a fan of NASCAR and always did his best work in a cap. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. A Ceremony of Sharing will follow at 1:00 pm and then burial at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
