

SCHMIDT, Clifford William “Kip” age 96 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 surrounded by his devoted family at Hillspring Care Facility of Springboro. Kip was born April 27, 1921 in Germantown, OH to the late Joseph and Clara Anna (Armbruster) Schmidt. In addition to his parents, Kip was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Mildred “Millie” (King) Schmidt in 1999; brothers, Andy, Herman and Paul Schmidt and sisters, Lauretta Cox, Clara Rose Redrick, Thelma Lehman, Ruth “Bootsie” Schmidt and Mary Greggerson. He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Tim) Combs of Miamisburg; granddaughter, Kristy (Billy) Sannes of Carlisle; grandson, Ryan Combs of West Carrollton; great granddaughter, Emili; great grandsons, Drew, Landen and Bryson; brother-in-law, Harold King and many nieces and nephews. Kip was a 1940 graduate of Miamisburg High School and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg. He honorably served the United States Army as a Sgt. Tank Commander during WWII for the A Company 22nd Tank BN 11th Armored Division. Kip was owner and operator of Kip’s Market in the 1960’s and also lent a helping hand to his brother at Andy’s Market in the 1970’s. He had many years of employment with Delco and Frigidaire as well, working in their accounts payable department before retiring in 1981. Kip loved time with family and was proud of his close bond with each of them. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening and singing in the Church Choir. He supported the American Legion Post 165 and the VFW Post 3438 as a member of both and enjoyed volunteering at Mound Golf Club over the years. Family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, January 4, 2017 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 Friday, January 5, 2017 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg, celebrated by Father Ron Combs. Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery, Miamisburg will serve as Kip’s final resting place where military honors will be performed.
