Dale Myers Huffman

HUFFMAN, Dale Myers, age 79 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Kettering Medical Center following many years of illness. Dale was born January 23, 1936 in Williamstown, KY to the late Renzy and Katheryn (Myers) Huffman. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie and Keith Huffman. He is survived by a multitude of loving friends including his caregiver, Eddie Wright of West Carrollton; niece, Sue (Jay) Wolff of Miamisburg; nephews, Brian Bates and Bobby (Kelly) Bates; their children Hannah and Jacob, all of Miamisburg and Pam (Mick) Haught. Dale acquired his journalism credentials from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH after graduating from high school. Dale also honorably served for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He began his 45-year career in journalism in Cincinnati as a reporter and was well known and well-loved for his professionalism and connection with his audience through print, television and radio. Dale was a generous and conscientious citizen involving himself in his community and country as a volunteer and financial contributor. He especially loved dedicating his time to the well-being and education of children. Friends and loved ones are invited to visit from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Mike Tuttle. Ellerton Cemetery, Moraine will serve as Dale’s final resting place where military honors will be performed.
