Dorothy Eilene Ellis Brandenburg

BRANDENBURG, Dorothy Eilene, age 87 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Sycamore Glen Health Center. Dorothy was born January 29, 1930 in Dayton, OH to the late William A. and Roxie R. (Smith) Ellis. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by spouses, Charles Edward Roddy (1972) and Gordon Brandenburg (1985); a son, Rob Roddy (1998); grandson, Tony Moore (2014) and an infant granddaughter, Amanda Roddy as well as her 7 siblings. Dorothy is survived by her children, Michael (Sheri) Roddy of West Carrollton, Sandy (Jim) Moore of Michigan and Gary ( Monica) Roddy of West Carrollton; grandchildren, Stephanie (TJ) Wilson, Nathan (Katie) Roddy, Angie (Paul) Cabe, James Nicotra, Justin Pringle, Matt Roddy and Daniel (Stevie) Roddy; great grandchildren, John Anthony, Hailey, Kaia, Gavin, Roan, Tim (Nicole), Tyler, Jayden, Keaton, Madison and Elias; great great grandson, Maurice and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy attended the West Carrollton City Schools and completed business studies at Miami Jacobs. She worked for many years in office administration for American Envelope. She also had experience in the restaurant industry with Neil’s Heritage House, Bullwinkle’s and Peerless Mill. Following retirement Dorothy worked as a private senior caregiver. Dorothy loved working her mind and hands. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, word searches and bird watching. She had also enjoyed caring for her yard and had been presented with the City Beautiful Award, but time with her family was her true passion. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2018 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrolton will serve as her final resting place.
