Edna Marie Lucas House

Age 80 of Miamisburg, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 13, 1934 in Miamisburg to the late Howard and Laura Belle (Thomas) Lucas. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard “Dick” House in 2003; a sister, Judy Woods; brother, Richard “Dick” (Loretta) Lucas; parents-in-law, Robert P. and Margaret House and brother-in-law, Bob House. Edna is survived by her children, Doug (Chris) House of Miamisburg and Julie (Michael) Rado of Centerville; siblings, Bill (Jane) Lucas of Arizona and Norma (Kenny) Lutes of Tennessee; grandchildren, Josh (Nicole) House, Cody (Sarah Beth) House, Ethan House, Kelly (Jared) Huffman, Kyle (Olivia Morris) Robie, Stephanie (Jim) Suriano and Courtney (Christian) Stratton; great grandchildren, Madeline, Allison, Gabrielle and Sarah; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Doris (French) Combs; a dear friend, Ginny Welss and her cats, Perky and Misty. Edna was a 1952 graduate of Miamisburg High School and served as an office manager for Dayton Surgeons during her successful 44 year career. She attended Southbrook Christian Church and generously supported many children’s and animal advocate organizations. She also enjoyed supporting her grandchildren’s activities and athletics. Edna cherished spending time with her family and closest friend, Ginny as well as traveling, the performing arts at the Schuster and Victoria and attending Dayton Dragon’s games. Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the care provided by the staff of Hospice of Dayton and the Cancer Hope group at Southbrook Christian Church for their support and prayers. Family will receive friends and loved ones during visitation from 9:30 - 11:00 am Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 in Edna’s memory.
