

DAVIS, (Longworth), Hazel E. Age 76, of Lebanon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 3, 2017, at Hospice of Dayton’s Butler & Warren Counties unit. Born July 29, 1941 in Richlands, Virginia, to June Frances Artz and Charles Howard Longworth, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death, infant son, Charles Everett Davis and grandson, Thomas Davis. In October of 2010, her beloved husband of 50 years, Daniel Everett Davis went to be with the Lord they loved and served. She is survived by children Elizabeth Ann Fleming (Liberty Township, Ohio) Pamela Sue Elam (Middletown, Ohio) Ronald Lee Davis (Richmond, Kentucky) Daniel Edward Davis (Germantown, Ohio) and Shelly Grace Hulce (Dayton, Ohio); 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brothers Howard D. Longworth (Gheen, Minnesota) and Charles F. Longworth (Port St. Lucie, Florida) also survive. In April of 1960, she married the love of her life and best friend, Daniel E. Davis. A lifelong servant of Christ who cared for everyone, Hazel loved singing and laughing and playing with her grandchildren. She ministered in many roles, her most rewarding being that of a pastor’s wife, serving the congregation of Carpenters House Baptist Church (Germantown) that she and husband, Pastor Daniel E. Davis, founded together in 1991. Pastor and Mrs. Davis also served as superintendents of Germantown (Ohio) Cemetery for 27 years, working side by side, comforting many grieving families. Hazel also served with her gift of art and was a commissioned headstone artist. Upon Pastor and Mrs. Davis retirement from the church and cemetery, they moved to their dream cabin in the mountains of Kentucky, where they made many friends and continued to minister to the community. Hazel was a godly example all of her life, and a servant to all she met. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family, the staff and residents of Otterbein Senior Community of Lebanon, Ohio and all who knew her. Visitation to be held Thursday, September 7, 2017, 6PM-8PM at the Gebhart- Schmidt- Parramore Funeral Home, Linden Ave., Miamisburg, Ohio, Funeral service to take place Friday September 8, 2017 at 10:00AM, Miamisburg Church of the Nazarene, 1216 Richard Street, Miamisburg, Ohio, Thomas Clark, (nephew), officiating. Graveside service to be held immediately after the funeral, Hillgrove Cemetery, Central Ave., Miamisburg, Ohio, Charles F. Longworth, (brother), officiating. The family wishes to thank the earthly angels at Hospice Dayton, Butler & Warren Counties, who eased their beloved Hazel’s pain throughout her final days.
