

Snyder, Imelda “Mel”, age 93, of Miamisburg, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on June 24, 1917 in Burkettsville, Ohio a daughter of the late William and Mary (Schmitz) Rammel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fredric E. Snyder and four brothers, James, Carl, Lester, and David Rammel. Mel was a 1935 graduate of Miamisburg High School. She was employed at Frigidaire until she married and started her family. As her family grew, she was a Dayton Daily News branch manager and influenced many young people with their work ethics as they started their first job as a carrier. She later retired from Miamisburg High School as a secretary. She was an active member of Our Lady of Good Hope for 85 years. She was also a member of Altar Rosary and was treasurer for many years. Survivors include a son, Robert Snyder of Miamisburg, Ohio; three daughters, Susan and Dale Beal, Nancy and Jon Frank, both of Miamisburg and Margaret and Michael Lee of Greenville, Ohio; also surviving are six grandchildren, Rhonda (Michael) Ishmael, Heather (Tate) Atkinson, Brian (Maryanna) Frank, Kelly (David) South, Joanna (Shannon) Brown, and Joshua (Alissa) Lee; seven great grandchildren, Tyler Cornett, Gavinn & Mason Atkinson, Katie & Kaleb Brown, and Lauren & Aaron Ishmael and her sisters, Betty (Wilbur) Weidel and Mary (Dale) McMurchy both of Miamisburg. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 2 to 5 pm at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE FUNERAL HOME, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, May 16, 2011 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Miamisburg officiated by Father Tom Nevels. Burial will be at the Miamisburg Catholic Cemetery.
