

KESLING, Jack E. Sr., 86, of Miamisburg, OH, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, Franklin, OH. Jack was born in Oregonia, Ohio, October 17, 1926, to the late Stanley Kesling & Louise “GG” (Bridgeman) Kesling. Jack was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country in the US Navy. Jack had many friends and interests. He was an active member of the Miamisburg Moose, volunteering for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion. He was an avid trap shooter and talented carpenter, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, cooking and spending time with his beloved family. Jack and his brother George owned and operated Kesling Brother’s Builders. They built and remodeled many homes in the Dayton area. Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Dovie Mae Kesling. They were married May 3, 1947 and remained devoted soul mates until her death in January of 2012. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brother and business partner George Kesling and his wife Armetha. Jack is survived by his son, Jack E. Kesling, Jr. of Troy; daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) Day of Miamisburg and son, Jeffrey (Shawn) Kesling of Centerville; grandchildren Jack E. Kesling III of NC, Tonya (Jeffrey) Johns, Kimberly (Craig) Irgens, Keith (Janet) Day all of Miamisburg, Nathan Kesling (Nichole Dimbath) of Spring Valley and Nicholas (Katie) Kesling of Kodiak, Alaska and great grandchildren Abbigayle, Isabella, Ava, Emma and Lucas. The family will receive friends at Gebhart -Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home at 508 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg on Thursday, June 27th between 5 & 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday June 28th at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Mike Tuttle. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg with military honors.
