

SEARS, Judith Marie age 51 of Miamisburg, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Kettering Medical Center. Judy was born September 6, 1963 in Cincinnati to Tom and Elizabeth “Bess” Bruns of Cincinnati. In addition to her parents, Judy is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, John A. Sears of Miamisburg; her beloved children, Katherine Sears and Jake Sears, both of Columbus, and Ellen Bruns Sears of Miamisburg; siblings, William (Christie) Bruns of Wisconsin, Greg (Vicki) Bruns of Cincinnati, Mary Jo (Mark) Rowell of Indiana, Richard Bruns of Mason and Karen (Paul) Placke of Cincinnati as well as numerous other extended family and devoted friends. Judy was a 1981 graduate of Seton High School. She continued her formal education receiving her Bachelor of Philosophy from Western College in Oxford then her Certification in Secondary Education and Masters of Education both from Wright State University. Judy also honorably served the United States Army Burial from 1981-83 as a private First Class, radio teletype operator with commendations for marksmanship. Judy was a dedicated employee having most recently worked as a member services representative for Universal 1 Credit Union and previously as a substitute teacher for Miamisburg Schools and a Correctional Program Specialist for Lebanon Correctional Institute. Judy was also dedicated to her community as a volunteer reading and math tutor for Miamisburg Schools, a religious educational leader for Our Lady of Good Hope Church and a long-time regular blood donor. Judy enjoyed reading, history, biblical study and playing the role of amateur wine connoisseur. Judy touched everyone with genuine kindness and love for humanity. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and positive approach to life. Family will receive their friends and loved ones from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg celebrated by Father Tom Nevels followed by military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society at 2808 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH 45206 in Judy’s memory.
