Katherine Katie Ann Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Katherine Ann, age 83 of Miamisburg, died Friday, July 7, 20917 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born January 11, 1934 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Herman and Katherine (Wheeler) Kinker. In addition to her parents, Katy was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Carl F. “Hony” Armstrong n 1995. She is survived by her son, Geoffrey “Scott” Armstrong of Powell; grandchildren, Geoffrey Thomas Armstrong and Anna Renee Armstrong; sister, Faye Kindinger of New Boston and a very very special friend, Susan K. Fitzwater of Miamisburg. Katy was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and met her husband working as a bookkeeper/receptionist for Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. They relocated to the greater Dayton suburbs for other employment opportunities and Katy picked up a similar position at Daytronic Corporation. She had a compassionate heart as she was able to serve as a volunteer for Hospice of Dayton and receiving recognition for 15 years of service. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dayton and enjoyed working with her hands as a talented quilter, a hobby she shared with her friend Susan. Katy loved to keep and nurture a beautiful floral garden and loved sharing historical knowledge and banter with her son. Family will receive guests from 4:30 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. An additional visitation will be hosted at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, Wheelersburg, OH from 12:00 – 2:00pm Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in advance of her burial at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg.
