Larry Owen Edwards

EDWARDS, Larry O., Sr., age 57 of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg. Larry was born December 12, 1953 in Middletown to the late Philip L. Edwards and Anna Bell (Baier) Edwards of Miamisburg. In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Philip W. Edwards. In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl A. (Hopkins) Edwards of Miamisburg, daughter, Amanda L. “Turkey” (John Lakes) Estep of Miamisburg; son, Larry O. Edwards, Jr. of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Bethany Marie, Isaiah Gage and Alivya Carrie Elizabeth; brothers, Andrew B. Edwards of Miamisburg and Ralph H. (Cindy) Edwards of Putnam, OK; sisters, Lynn M. Bolen of Miamisburg and Janet E. Rose of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Cleo Penrod of Carlisle as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was a 1971 graduate of Carlisle High School and worked as a mechanic until he reached legal age to operate an 18-wheeler. From then on he pursued his passion for truck driving as an owner/operator mostly recently employed by Total Package Express Inc. Larry was a very generous man of himself and his time always lending a hand to those in need of his assistance. He was a member of the FOE #2306 and American Legion SAL #165 both of Miamisburg. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM- 12:00 Noon Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin 12:00 Noon Wednesday following visitation. Burial will take place at Preble Memory Gardens; West Alexandria, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home at 508 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg, OH 45342 in memory of Larry.
