Mary Elaine Barker

Barker, Mary “Elaine”, age 84 of Miamisburg passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg. She was born November 10, 1927 in Lewisburg, Ohio to the late Russell Sylvester and Nellie Marie (Whitesell) Strader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Barker (2005) and a sister, Julia Foote. Elaine is survived by her son, Terry L. (Dolores) Barker of Miamisburg; grandchildren, Delori Pickett of Miamisburg and Jeromy Barker of Nebraska; great grandchildren, Christopher, Scott, Brittany and Austin; her brother, Russell (Arlene) Strader, Jr. of Union; another sister, Betty Coontz of Jackson, MI; several nieces and nephews and her yorkie, Mack. Elaine attended Trotwood High School, was employed as a hostess at Patterson Restaurant of Dayton and also worked at International Envelope. She was a devout member of Springboro First Baptist Church and former member of both the American Legion and Moose of Miamisburg. Elaine always enjoyed a game of euchre, fishing and time with her family. Family will receive friends from 10:00 – 12:00 noon on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Springboro First Baptist Church, 80 Greenwood Ln., Springboro, OH 45066. Funeral services will begin 12:00 Noon also at the church and officiated by Pastor Rick Carr. Burial will take place at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springboro First Baptist Church at P.O. Box 906, Springboro, OH 45066.
