Maxie Irene Bernard

Bernard, Maxie Irene, age 82 of Franklin, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born July 19, 1929 in Paintsville, KY to the late Ira Scott and Murlie (Salyer) Cantrell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Orville Carol (Myrtle Jean) Cantrell and sister, Annabelle (Foster) Vaughn. Maxie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilbur E. "Jack" Bernard; brother, Levi Junior (Cora Lee) Cantrell of Kentucky, numerous nieces and nephews and her caregivers, Jim and Patricia Hembree of Carlisle. Maxie was a cherished family blessing, wonderful homemaker, wife of a WWII Veteran and devout Christian and former member of Pennyroyal Hill Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday, June 25, 2012 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm officiated by Rev. Jerry Vaughn. Burial will take place at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. Memorial contributions may be made to Pennyroyal Baptist Church at 3733 Pennyroyal Rd., Franklin, OH 45005.
