

SPRINGER, Patricia Rose “Pat”, age 81 of New Orleans, LA passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at Ochsner Medical Center, Jefferson, LA. Pat was born May 10, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, PA to the late Charles Joseph and Catherine Beatrice (Boning) Skergan. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her former spouse, Arthur Springer and siblings, Sister M. Francina Skergan, Sisters of Charity; Richard (Cecilia) Skergan, USMC and Edward (Grace) Skergan, USMC. Pat is survived by her sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Gerald) LaRue of Germantown, numerous nieces and nephews, and her close friends and caregivers. Pat attended primary school in Pennsylvania and West Virginia before graduating in 1954 from St. Francis High School in Morgantown. She continued her studies at Ursuline Mother House in Louisville, KY before working on her PhD at Baptist Education Seminary in New Orleans, LA. Pat taught second grade for 10 years and worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses over a period of 15 years. She volunteered her assistance with mentally and physically challenged children as well as counselling teenagers. Pat enjoyed football. Her favorite teams were the Pittsburg Steelers, the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. Family will receive guests from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg, Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:30 AM also on Saturday at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg and celebrated by Father Jim Romanello. Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery, Miamisburg will serve as her final resting place.
