Grandma,

There are no words to describe the legacy you have left behind. Not only the impact you had on family, but everyone who met you. You loved every single one of us unconditionally. 

I could always call on Grams AKA Queen. Thank you for always believing in me, supporting me, loving me. Thank you for teaching me helping me with my homework, playing cards, and the videos. Thank you for going to the track meets and soccer games. Thank you for the hugs, kisses, always saying I love you. Thank you for the trips, laughter, lessons, and giving me perspective on life. 

I thank God I was blessed and beyond thankful to have you as my Grandmother. I am blessed to have you as my Guardian Angel. I will strive to be a better person each day. I know you will be right here as I go in on life. Welcome Home Grandma, spread your wings. You were an Angel on Earth ❤️

Perd and I go back a lot of years, ever since we were 15 years old.  I have so many memories of her and Jim that I will always remember.  May she be free of the pain that she suffered these past few months.

Mom,

We knew this time was coming though it doesn't make it easier to be without you.  How blessed we are to have you for our mom, I have so many wonderful memories of you that will help sustain me in this time of mourning.  We will take each day as it comes and our memories will keep you with us, the stories we share of our times together, will keep you ever present in our lives.     

There are not many moms like you, always there to support your kids.  I picture you in the stands no matter what the weather, there you were watching us play -  softball, track, basketball, volleyball.... you cared about us and it showed.  I have this clear memory of you trying to "save" Kim and I, our ending of a softball practice session with dad, catch 10 balls in a row and we're done, and of course dad would always put one hard never to be caught ball in there to keep it going, so you would shout out "Jim let the girls come in!"  Thank you mom 

Thank you for the late night reading marathons, even if the rest of the family didn't understand our love of BOOKS!!!  I can still see us both sitting on the couch, you on one end and me on the other reading till the wee hours of the morning.  

Thank you for the many family vacation trips to Gatlinburg, such wonderful memories we all have of those trips.  A special time for my boys bonding with their grandparents.  The vacation house that they thought we owned because you and dad rented it so often!  Thank you for the special way you had with Corey and Chad and though you didn't get to spend much time with Bayleigh and Mason it didn't keep Bayleigh from asking if we could go and see Grandma Dumas.  You make an impact, it is your smile, your laughter, your love that just shows through.  God I will miss your smile.  I called you on my way home from work everyday...and now, I cannot tell you how strange it feels to start my car and pull out of the parking lot and not call you.

Mrs Dumas, I will miss you, but I will remember.  I remember your smile and your laugh... I remember playing cards until the early hours of the morning..  I remember your expression while taking the trick with an off suite deuce.. I remember you dropping everything to play gin rummy or war with the boys..   

I remember the microwave corn you prepared for my first Christmas visit,  I remember your gravy and realize I will never duplicate it... I will remember you every time I hear " The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and every time we talk about Gatlinburg"

I will remember our one on one talks in the gazebo about birds, flowers and the praying mantis.

When you meet my dad, please keep your report limited to good things.  Please share with him stories of his great grandchildren, and let him know "Peanut" is a girl.

For the past 30 years I have been blessed and honored to be a part of your family.  Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the tears.

I so miss you Mom... I miss seeing your beautiful smile, hearing your beautiful voice, telling you how much I love you!!! I know you are in a better place but it still doesn’t take away the sadness in my heart.. an empty feeling!!!

I have so many good memories of Perd.  From the early days with our parents playing cards, listening to old country music.. so much laughter coming out of that kitchen.  The picnics, one in particular when Jim ran into a tree.. and of course the good old ball days with Perd and those long pretty legs pantyhose short shorts cigarette in one hand and Pepsi in the other.  I loved her smile and her positive outlook.. we all should strive to be a little more Perd like.  Hugs to Jim and the girls.. I love you guys ❣️

We are certainly praying for your family in this time of  loss.  It is hard to lose a loved one but just remember the love that you shared throughout the years.

I’m so sorry for your loss. She fought a long hard battle . I loved her smile and laugh she was such a beautiful person inside and out❤️We have another Angel in heaven looking over us all😇she was so blessed to have such a great family that loved her so much . And took such great care of her❤️❤️❤️

There are so many memories of Perd and her family as they were a huge part of my childhood.  My parents were best friends with Perd and Jim..always having picnics or fish fry's or my dad and Jim frying oysters.  They all coached us at one point or another when we played softball. You will never be forgotten sweet lady.  I will always have a special place in my heart for all of the Dumas family.  ❤❤❤

We were so very sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing.   Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.  We share a lot of happy memories with all of you on the many ball fields we played on over the years.  God Bless all of you.

I’ll always remember when we were kids the adults getting together to play Rook while all the kids played in the basement. Aunt Perd would always be sipping a Pepsi in a bottle. That one bottle would last her all day. Prayers going out to the Dumas clan

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Dumas, sister: Peggy Wheeler and brother: Joe Guffy, daughters: Kim Dumas, Kelley (Rick) Granzow, Melissa Dumas Heard, Leslie Dumas; grandchildren: Alexis Heard, Corey (Tiffany) Granzow, Chad Granzow, Lindsey Etter, Great Grandchildren: Briley Rose, Bayleigh Skrastins, Mason Granzow.
