Robert L. Soller

Robert Lewis Soller, age 90, of Miamisburg passed away peacefully with family in attendance on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Dayton VA Hospice. He was born on December 25, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio and was raised by the late Bonnie and Irvin Weidle of Miamisburg. He learned to love farming while growing up on their farm and graduated Miamisburg High School in 1944. He served in the Navy for 2 years during WWII. NCR Corporation employed him in various positions for 36 years. He was also a volunteer with the Miamisburg Fire Department for 25 years and a lifelong member of the American Legion. His passions were his family, gardening, fishing and sports. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Eric Patrick, sister Francis (Paul) Cummings, and survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dot (Stevens) Soller of Miamisburg, his brother Fritz (Mary Lou) Soller of West Carrollton, nieces Shonda Cummings and Jody (Chris) Hockett, nephew Darren (Dyann) Cummings. Together, Bob and Dot raised 3 children: Penny (Fred) Warren III, Dan (Chris) Soller, Sue ( Ron) Patrick and have 4 grand children: Traci (Jack) Smith, Fred (Maureen) Warren IV, Eian Soller, Leeana (Jim) Weiss, and also have 6 great grandchildren: Bailey, Kiera, Fred V, Landen, Jada and Hayden. The family will greet friends at the visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Gebhart–Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave., Miamisburg, Ohio 45342 with funeral services to begin at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial to take place at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg with military honors.
