

C Daniel (Dan) Nash, age 79 of Berea, Ohio, passed away on November 5, 2013. He was born on July 21, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Howard and Helen Nash. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Nash (married 48 years). Venerated father of David J. Nash (Jennifer). Adoring grandfather of Reganne and Alexander Nash. Loving big brother of David A. Nash and the late John H. Nash, Sr. and uncle of many nieces and nephews. In 1979 Dan relocated with his family from the Cleveland area to the Cincinnati area then retired back home to northeastern Ohio (Berea) in 2007. Dan was VP-Taxation, General Tax Counsel, and tax attorney for several Fortune 500 and other companies, including The Kroger Co., Sencorp, Midland-Ross, Scott Fetzer, Republic Steel, and Goodrich-Gulf. He was also a longtime member of the Tax Executives Institute (TEI). He was a graduate of the Cleveland-Marshall Law School and was recently recognized as a 50 year member of the Ohio State Bar Association. Dan graduated in 1957 from Ohio University, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity as well as the Bobcats football and wrestling team, where he was a heavyweight champion of the Mid-American Conference. He was also active in the Ohio University Alumni Association and a previous President of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter and member of the National Alumni Board Hall of Fame. He graduated in January 1953 from Lakewood High School, where he was a member of the Rangers football team and recently attended his 60th high school reunion. Dan was a Veteran and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army National Guard, 135th Field Artillery Battalion, 37th Ohio Division. He was also a longtime member of Kenwood Country Club and season ticket holder to the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra when residing in Cincinnati. Dan was also a previous season ticket holder for both the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed traveling to historical sites and museums both nationally and internationally, and working in his yard. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society and would like to recognize and thank his recent caregivers Salifu Kabba and Scott Kaase and home hospice nurses Voni de Almeida and Mary Mion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Contributions requested to the American Cancer Society.
