At 67, Chris had spent most of his life serving the community; he began his career in social work before going back to school for accounting. He was proudest of working for non-profit organizations and volunteering, including local organizations like the Berea Children’s Home, Wingspan, and Hanson House. He was passionate about helping people and took joy in making friends wherever and whenever he could.
Chris loved a good round of golf, cold beer, the beach, and most of all, he loved to laugh. As an accomplished athlete and swimmer, you could always find him in the gym, most likely striking up a conversation with whomever was near him instead of pumping iron. He was always amazed by the creativity of others and passed on his passion and love of TV and movies to his girls, who have his same ability to remember silly quotes and trivia from watching his favorite movies with him for 30+ years.
While he enjoyed living in Cleveland his whole life, he also enjoyed visiting his daughters who frequently explored and lived in different places around the country.
He also volunteered at Hanson House - TBI Clubhouse, and worked at the non-profit Ohio Guidestone, formerly known as Berea Children's Home.
Please share stories to keep his memory alive of how he brought joy to others and think of him when you’re at the beach.
