Donna, aka "mom", encountered awful struggles in her life, but you would have never known. She always looked on the bright side of situations, which helped her to overcome her struggles to the best of her abilities. She will always be remembered for her humorous, energetic, and strong willed personality, with her beautiful red lipstick on, a pair of coach sunglasses on the top of her head, and a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee in her hand. She dedicated her life, not only to her children and family, but everyone around her! She believed everyone was as good hearted as she was. Even after being diagnosed with Non Small Cell Lung Cancer in November of 2022, there was still nothing her red lipstick, coach sunglasses, and Dunkin Donuts coffee couldn’t fix, along with her faith, hope, and positive attitude.
In the little bit of free time she had, she loved spending time with her children. One way she would do this was by taking them traveling with her. She took them to as many places as she could, like Florida, the Bahamas, Las Vegas, Belize, and Cozumel. She loved taking Julia to Disney World to see her eyes light up with happiness, and taking all of her children to the Florida Gulf shores to enjoy the beaches. She would enjoy spending time at home too, scratching lottery tickets and playing pull tabs. She would buy tickets for all of her children as well, and still be the only one who won on them. If she wasn’t out of town or at home, she was at one of Ohio’s casinos, most likely Jack Thistledown Racino, playing Buffalo and Pompeii machines. We never underestimated her though, since it wasn’t unusual for her to hit the 3 closest casinos around us in one night.
She was living life to the fullest. Mom, you were beautiful, intelligent, and courageous. Thank you for teaching us love, compassion, courage, and how to have fun in everything we do. We miss you so much! Until we meet again, we’ll continue your legacy. We love you.
