Emery Francis Major, age 82, loving father of Jill (Dan) Johnson of Chandler, AZ, Evette Major of Strongsville, OH, and Juliann Major of Chattanooga, TN; brother of Shari (Gary) Harris, Peg (Jim) Bower, Tony (Eileen) Major and David Major; grandfather of Austin, Savana, Sadie and Elijah; uncle of Jeffry, Kate, Matthew, Michael, and Marie.
Graduate of Ernest E. Root (North Royalton) High School Class of 1961. Proud U.S Army veteran, served 1964-1967. Retired from Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company T&D Engineering in 1993 after over 30 years of employment.
Emery will be remembered for his pure enthusiasm for learning, his love of his family and friends, and his dedication to the Catholic faith. He had an adventurous and playful spirit, loved spending time outdoors, and was forever drawn to a new project. He lived his life with order, timeliness, care, and purpose.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 4-7pm at A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights. Guests are welcome to share memories and stories beginning at 6pm followed by a rosary at 6:30pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7367 York Road, Parma, OH, followed by military service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 12:45pm, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.
Emery lived a full, beautiful, and vibrant life, and we’d like to honor him by encouraging everyone to wear bright colors or your favorite bow tie.
