Sorry for your loss. My son attends St. Ignatius HS and my grandmother (Edna Bound) told me all the time about Freddie Oblak being in their Hall of Fame. RIP.

you dealt with race and you never changed a friend to both races the best Jan got the job and you meant that you went through what most coaches didn't have to deal with in the east senate but you always said if its hard work you have to do to be a starter well do it be about it miss you O

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of mr. Oblak,, I'm a 1981 south high graduate and have thought about a lot of the teachers I had my 3 years there,, mr. Oblak included,, he was always full of energy ,, and I loved him as a teacher and as a person,, too bad there aren't more people like him,, the world would be a far better place,, I hope he has left each and everone who knew and loved him with a lot of great memories,, he will always have a special place in my heart,, tammy L. Please accept my deepest sympathies. I was one of Freddie's classmates at Ignatius ( class of '58 ). He was a fine person and a good friend to all of us. He will be missed.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family.  Fred was, and still is, undoubtedly my best friends.  We grew up together playing ball together and against each other, in scouts, coaching, hunting and fishing, and drinking and enjoying life together.  I was in y'alls bridal party, drove the truck home from Cincinnati when he graduated, and spent many early mornings in y'alls house with the babies crying and dogs baying as Fred tried to get dressed to go hunting or fishing!  I will miss him very much but I know not as much as you.  Just remember that now he is comfortable and watching us and praying for  us.

Sorry for your loss Oblak family.He was my typing teacher who always brightened my day when he told me when I grow up, I'll probably feed my husband Twinkies because I don't know to cook.  RIP Mr. Oblak.  ~Class of 90.

Fred I can't believe your gone...you were my inspiration to be the kind of coach I am today.  You were one of my best friends, and I really enjoyed the 25 years of coaching with you.  My deepest and sincere sympathy to the family.  My heart is deeply hurt but I will always remember you.
