Happy Father's Day Dad and Grandpa,we miss you! Always in our hearts, Dave, Mary Jo. Nicole and Matthew.

It’s been 47 years, since 1963, that I met and immediately fell in with fellow first grader Johnny Bito – and through him, his amazing family.  The patriarch, the presence at the end of the table I so often joined (how did we all fit???), John Sr., was the very embodiment of a father.  I had my own back home.  He was great, too, but he was different.  I do not trouble to compare, I only speak of John here.  He seemed like the ultimate in paternal strength, yet there was a twinkle in his eye.  To get a smile, or better yet a laugh, from him – while not that hard – was one of the best feelings.  I don’t think I realized how much I looked up to him.  And so, of course, does Johnny.  The pride in his voice every time he speaks the phrase “my dad,” which he does frequently, sounds out like a symphony with texture and depth.  
The fact that I’ve stayed close with Johnny all this time isn’t just Johnny’s doing.  I dare say our long friendship is all the deeper because of the family. And the family started with Mr. Bito (and, of course, Mrs. Bito, my second Mom, so loving).  So many aspects of him were the kind of qualities you want in people around you.  And he passed them on:  The best of John (and Rose) is there in the wonderfully unique crew of Johnny, David, Rosanne, Chris, and Karen; you all became siblings to me.  And I see John in each of you when I see your welcoming arms wide open.  You’re all loyal, giving, you have strength, you’ve got your dad’s twinkle in your eyes (okay, especially David!), you love life, and you’d do anything for family and friends.  John E. Bito was the best of men.  That fact is reflected and lives on in you.  Thanks for letting me be there, too.  The last time I saw him, the last thing he did, was joke.  And while we laugh with the memories, I’m still wondering; when do the tears stop?

I am fortunate to have a Father who his hard to measure up to. You showed me your unselfishness as a son,husband,father,grandfather,marine,and as a friend to many. You will be missed and will always be loved.

Dear Rosie,  It was with great sadness when I've heard of John's passing. I am still trying to deal wth my Audrey's passing. It seems to happen to all good and wonderful people. I know for sure they are now at thr very best place The Good Lord has in heaven. My heartfeft prayers are with you.. Dr. Oguz Temucin and family.

Roseanne,  we were both saddened to hear of your dad's passing.  Losing a parent - we dread it.  Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts - and have been...we especially think of Anthony often.

Mr. Bito was so welcoming when I would spend weekends at the cottage with Maria.  Your family are in my thoughts and prayers & he is watching over all of you from above.

My condolences to the family and friends of John.  Just recently, I had the pleasure of talking with him after the memorial service for Pipefitter Business Agent, Joe Dingow.  In the '70's, I worked for John, at the Cleveland Clinic.  I appreciated him. He will be missed.

John. my lifetime friend.  I have the greatest memories of all the help you gave me and being there when I neede a friend. Just being there meant I always had everything I needed.  My heart is broken and having to watch you suffer was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.  I know you are at peace and God is your co-pilot.

You opened your heart and arms when me and my girls entered into your family.  You were the grandfather to my girls that they didn't have and the father that I no longer had.  You touched our hearts and lives with memories we will always cherish.  The lives you have touched wth your smile, love, generosity, and selflessness will always have a place in our hearts to carry with us forever.  We love you and are proud to have shared memories with you.

grandpa,you are my hero and my guardian angel.you are the most caring,funny,and selfless man i have ever met.i miss you a little more each day,but i know that you are in a better place and no longer in pain,and that is all we can ask for.i will miss watching NCIS and Murder She Wrote with you,talking about ways to get rid of those annoying deer in the backyard,and even helping you carry in groceries.i will never forget the time we spilled O.J on grandmas cookies,so we quickly patted them with napkins to make it look less noticable.its hard looking out our side door and not seeing you sitting by the pond on nice days.i will always love you..but i bet you already knew that.always in the sky,forever in our hearts.i wont disapoint you..Nicole

What could be said about Mr. Bito that has not already been said?? It was like being at home whenever you were there. He was the Father that you respected and admired. It was my family away from my family. My prayers are with the Bito family and friends. "Ti Amiamo" (We Love You)

To the big man who always helped me escape my life when we would sit around and talk. Whether it be at the family reunions, weddings, or other family get-togethers. He loved to sit around with me & John Michael and talk about our beloved sports teams. Especially our beloved Buckeyes, Indians and Browns. No matter what it was we were talking about, life was always so much easier talking with John. I will forever remember & miss those times we sat around talking with one another.

 It is said a man hasn't died as long as he is remembered. This prayer is a way for families, friends and fellow veterans to remember our fallen brothers and sisters.

What a animal ,,2 Bronze Stars , the N. Koreans must of been aware of such a Proud, Wonderful , Hard  Fighting Marine , As all Marines know " the pearly gates  of Heaven have been open for another Marine to enter . when it is my turn ,  it will be an honor to meet you    John

Semper Fidelis, most people only know it is a marine saying, it is more than that, if you need to know what it means look at my Dads life.  It literally means "Always Faithful" my father was always their for all of us and everyone he met.  He was always faithful, to my mom, brothers,sisters, friends and everyone in the family. He loved life and the people he came in contact with, I lost a friend and a father, Semper Fi Dad,

You were more than a father in law to me, I loved you like a father. I will miss everything about you. You are in my heart forever, Mary Jo

To my grandpa and one of my best friends, you are one of the sweetest, most selfless, funniest person I ever knew. I always heard my mom say how she knows the Great-Grandma June is her Guardian Angel, and the second I walked out of your hospital, I knew you were looking down on me. I will forever remember our Sunday walks in the park, how you let me where your huge glasses every time we made bacon on Sunday, the way you always stuck your tongue out at grandma instead of fighting, blessing the food before Easter and making the cream cheese and celery like your mother did, the sky always being "whats up", pretending you didn't know who I was on the phone, picking fruit right off the trees and you cutting them up for us with your pocket knife in your backyard, your beef soup, watching the birds and the tractor rides! 

Words can't even describe and my mind can barely fathom how much I miss you. Hero is an understatement when trying to describe how this family looks at you.

To a family man that always welcomed you into their home. The memories shared with his family are priceless to me. The garden the pond the wake up honks I would give on my way to work. He always told me don't forget my wake up honk.LOL Prayers to each  and everyone of the Bito's that made me feel like family.I love ya'll and I know I have one more angle to look after us.
