Kathi was a graduate of Parma Senior High School and Cuyahoga County Community College, with a degree in early childhood education. Kathi met Paul in college and they were married in 1970; they found their way to their home in Grafton Ohio in 1976 where they lived for 49 years. She loved Grafton and the community around. Kathi worked with children, both as a child care provider and as an Educational Monitor in the Midview School District Brush and North Elementary Schools for over 30 years. She made lifelong friends in her community and loved it when the children she once worked with came by to say hello. Her love of early childhood education continued well past retirement as a devoted grandmother.
Kathi is survived by her husband of 55 years Paul Rothacker, her son Erik, daughter-in -law Birgit, and grandson Nathan Rothacker and her daughter Julie, son-in-law Michael, and grandson Andrew Magiera. She is also survived by her sister Karen Amy (Stephen Collesano) of Washington DC, brother Keith (Vivian) Amy of Seattle Washington, Sisters- in-law Sally Rothacker Peyton (Robert) and Nancy Smola (Jeffery), and brother- in-law Thomas Rothacker (Linda) , and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear close friends.
Those who knew her might describe her as a strong, spunky person with a sarcastic sense of humor, who loved with fierce devotion. Kathi was never happier than when surrounded by her family, and especially loved her movie dates with her grandsons.
As was Kathi’s wish, a private family moment will be held in her honor.
